In France Pinot Noir is synonymous with the Burgundy region. The first vines were planted and cultivated in the area by monks during the Middle Ages. Tasting a French Pinot Noir usually discerns a more earthy and floral style, characteristic of the terroir of Burgundy.

This particular wine comes from the vineyard "Clos des Ursulines", a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Pommard region that used to belong to Ursuline nuns. A unique terroir that produces an elegant Pinot Noir aged 14 to 16 months in oak barrels.
