This very rare Demerara Rum has been distilled in a wooden still, aged in bourbon casks and bottled in a small number of bottles.
It is characterized by notes of coconut, honey and caramel but also by the strong presence of sweet spices such as vanilla, cinnamon and licorice. Sweetness and saltiness are beautifully balanced and pop through salted toffee, oak notes, dried apricots and nuts like hazelnut and almonds.
The province of Demerara in Guyana has a long history of sugar and rum production since the 17th century. Today, the company is housed in the last remaining distillery in Guyana, Plantation Diamond, on the east bank of the Demerara River, having utilized all the old and abandoned equipment that makes Demerara Rum so special.
