In the past, the captain of a ship would take a spoonful of rum, put gunpowder and ignite it to "prove" to his crew the integrity of a rum. Sailor Jerry continues this old tradition. Spiced rums were created by sailors who didn't have time to wait for rum to age, so spices were added to give it a strong character. This rum comes from a blend of spirits from the Caribbean, which is mixed with vanilla and cinnamon.
